About Me

Clara Elpi

I help academic and research teams transform complex ideas into visually compelling, accessible digital experiences. With a decade of expertise in user-centered design, content strategy, and data-driven storytelling, I thrive at the intersection of creativity and analysis—whether designing brand systems, interactive exhibits, or intuitive interfaces.

As the Creative Designer Intermediate at the University of Michigan’s College of Literature, Science, and the Arts, I collaborate with researchers, developers, and librarians to produce digital assets (websites, apps, exhibits) that amplify scholarly work. My role merges graphic design, UX principles, and accessibility standards (CPACC-certified) to create inclusive visual narratives for projects with global impact.

I believe great design starts with empathy and evidence. My training in sociology (Virginia Tech MS) and data analysis (Cornell) informs how I interpret audience behavior, while my fluency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, WordPress, and HTML/CSS lets me turn insights into tangible solutions.

Beyond my professional roles, I am a dedicated advocate for equity in education, co-founding initiatives like Youth Remote Learning during the COVID-19 pandemic and the Smart is Strong Foundation to address gender disparities in STEM.
